Local, Not Just Nearby
West Kelowna counselling shouldn’t mean choosing between “close” and “the right fit.” Here’s what that looks like in practice:
- A straightforward drive. From Glenrosa, Lakeview Heights, Smith Creek, or Westbank Centre, it’s about a 10–20-minute driving across the William R. Bennett Bridge to our office on Dickson Ave. No long haul required for an in-person session.
- Online, when the bridge traffic isn’t worth it. Plenty of West Kelowna clients see their therapist entirely online, especially on weekdays when the crossing gets busy. Same clinician, same continuity, no commute either way.
- A well-rated, Okanagan-based practice. We’re a local team, and it shows in how clients talk about working with us.
- Room on the roster. We keep our caseloads manageable on purpose, so “we’ll get back to you” doesn’t turn into a long wait for a first appointment.
The Drive from West Kelowna
From most of West Kelowna, plan on a 10–20-minute drive door-to-door via Highway 97 and the William R. Bennett Bridge.
Our office is located at #210, 1715 Dickson Ave, in the Landmark District. Easy to find, with parking on-site, close to Highway 97 for anyone coming in from outside of Kelowna.

Book Your Free ConsultationReasons West Kelowna Clients Reach Out
You don’t need the “right” reason to book a consultation. Here’s some of what regularly brings West Kelowna clients through our door or onto a video call:
For a mind that won’t slow down or a body that’s braced for something to go wrong.
For past experiences that are still shaping how you move through the present.
For loss, worked through at whatever pace actually fits you.
For the flatness or heaviness that’s made ordinary days harder to get through.
For partners who want a steadier way of navigating things together.
For communication patterns that keep landing in the same place.
For the disorientation that comes with a big change, chosen or not.
For the point where “managing” and “just getting through it” stopped actually working.
Not sure which one fits? That’s what the free consultation is for. You don’t need to self-diagnose before reaching out.
Cross the Bridge, or Stay Home
When It's Worth the Drive
Our Dickson Ave office is calm and unrushed, not clinical. Good fit if face-to-face makes it easier for you to open up, or if you just want a dedicated space away from home for the hour, bridge crossing included.
When Online Makes More Sense
Same clinicians, same approach, over a secure video platform. Good fit if the commute across the bridge eats into a schedule that’s already tight, or if you’d simply rather start from somewhere familiar. Covered under the same extended benefits as in-person sessions.
Plenty of West Kelowna clients switch between the two depending on the week. You’re not locked into one format when you book.
What We Believe
We believe good counselling starts with feeling safe, understood, and comfortable enough to be honest about what's going on. You don't need to have everything figured out before you reach out.
We also believe the right fit matters. You choose the clinician you'd like to work with, use the free consultation to see how it feels, and decide together what comes next. Whether you come in from West Kelowna or meet online, therapy should fit your life and your needs.
Book Your Free ConsultationHow It Works: Free Consultation & Choosing Your Therapist
Pick Who You Want to Work With
Browse our team page and go with whoever you’re drawn to: their focus areas, their approach, whatever feels right to you. Nothing gets assigned behind the scenes. You make the call.
Use Your Free 20-Minute Consultation to Check the Fit
This short call or session runs both ways: you get a sense of how the clinician works and ask any questions, and together you both assess whether it actually feels like a good match.
Move Forward Together, or Get Pointed to a Better Fit
If it feels right, you book your first full session and get going. If it doesn’t, your clinician will personally help connect you with another therapist on the Thrive team whose approach might land better. You’re not left to go find someone new on your own.
Settle Into Whatever Pace Works
Most clients start weekly or biweekly, then adjust from there. In-person or online, the plan is built around what you’re working on, not a fixed program everyone goes through.

What Makes the Drive Worth It
Registered Care, Covered by Your Plan
Every clinician on our team is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) or Registered Social Worker (RSW), which means sessions are typically covered under extended health plans that include counselling.
You Pick, Nobody Assigns You
You choose which clinician to book with, and confirm the fit together during a free consultation. If it’s not the right one, that clinician helps you find who is.
Room That's Actually There
Our therapists work in intentional blocks, so when a profile shows they’re currently accepting new clients, it means someone genuinely has space for you — not just a name on a waitlist.

Frequently Asked Questions: West Kelowna Clients Often Ask
Where is your office located?
We're at #210, 1715 Dickson Ave in Kelowna, on the east side of the William R. Bennett Bridge, about a 10–20-minute drive from most of West Kelowna.
Do you see clients from West Kelowna online, or only in person?
Both. Many West Kelowna clients choose online sessions for convenience, and switching between online and in-person for the same therapist is no problem.
How much does counselling cost, and is it covered by insurance?
Individual sessions are $150–$170, couples sessions are $200, both for 50 minutes. Exact rates are listed on each clinician's booking profile. Many extended health plans cover RCCs and RSWs. We provide a receipt after each session for reimbursement, and select clinicians also accept CVAP.
How do I pick a therapist?
You choose who you'd like to book a free consultation with based on their bio and focus areas. That first session is about finding out if it's a good fit.
Do you see clients from other nearby cities too?
Yes, alongside West Kelowna, we work with clients from across the Okanagan, both in person and online.
Is the free consultation actually free?
Yes, no cost and no obligation. It's there so you can check the fit with a clinician before committing to anything further.
How soon can I get an appointment?
It varies by clinician, but we keep new-client openings genuinely current on each therapist's booking page, so you can see real availability before you book.
Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?
Some clinicians do, both in person and online. Check individual booking pages for the time slots each therapist currently has open.
