Thrive

Clinical Counselling

Kea Fox
RCC — Founder & Clinical Director

Hi, I’m Kea, and I founded Thrive Clinical Counselling with the belief that each of us has the potential to grow into our highest selves. With the right support and care, meaningful change becomes possible — especially when therapy feels safe, compassionate, and attuned to who you are.

Thrive is a Kelowna-based clinical counselling practice offering a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach to therapy. Care is informed by modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).

Therapy at Thrive is collaborative and individualized. Clients are supported in exploring what may be keeping them stuck, developing practical tools for change, and reconnecting with their strengths — whether they’re navigating anxiety, trauma, low self-worth, or life transitions.

The intention behind Thrive is to offer professional, personable care that supports healing, growth, and the confidence to move toward mental wellness.

Described by colleagues as warm, grounded, and insightful — known for creating a space where clients feel safe to explore, supported to grow, and guided with both compassion and clarity.

What can you expect

Therapy at Thrive is grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens through a balance of connection, thoughtful challenge, and growth over time. From the first conversation, you can expect to be met with warmth, care, and respect for your pace — creating a foundation where it feels safe to show up as you are.

As therapy unfolds, we work together to explore what’s been shaping your experience, notice patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and reflect on what matters most to you. At times, therapy may gently invite new perspectives or small stretches outside your comfort zone — always with collaboration, compassion, and consent guiding the process.

Over time, this work supports growth: building insight, strengthening self-trust, and developing practical tools that help you move forward with greater clarity and confidence. Therapy is tailored to you and evolves as your needs do.

Connection

The strength of the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in meaningful change. As Brené Brown reminds us, “To connect, we have to be seen — really seen.”

Therapy is a space where you can come exactly as you are. There’s no need to filter yourself or try to be someone you’re not — you are already enough.

At Thrive, we place a strong emphasis on cultivating genuine connection. Our clinicians believe that humans thrive in authenticity, and that it’s through a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship that you can begin to deepen your connection with yourself, with others, and with the world around you.

Challenge

The work of therapy can be challenging, and healing rarely moves in a straight line. At times, things may feel unsettled or uncomfortable before they begin to feel clearer or lighter.

Therapy can invite you to gently lean into that discomfort — not to push through it, but to better understand what’s been keeping you stuck. With the right support these patterns can be explored with care, curiosity, and respect for your pace.

Over time, this process can open up new ways of relating to yourself and your experiences, creating space for greater clarity, flexibility, and lasting change.

Growth

Growth often begins with awareness — noticing patterns, responses, and needs with greater clarity and self-compassion. As understanding deepens, it becomes possible to make choices that feel more intentional and aligned with what matters most to you.

In therapy, this awareness is supported through reflection, gentle experimentation, and small, meaningful steps forward. Over time, these shifts begin to show up in how you move through daily life — in your choices, boundaries, and sense of self.

At Thrive, growth isn’t about becoming someone new or “better.” It’s about reconnecting with your strengths, clarifying your values, and moving forward in ways that feel grounded, authentic, and sustainable.
